“Having just turned 16 and received my National Insurance Number, I made it my duty to find a part time job as soon as possible. After handing out CV’s all over West London, I received one solitary phone call from The Entertainer Toy Shop in White City, Westfield London.

I remember being told to come in for an interview by Chris Jaggs that weekend. Chris himself interviewed me and from then I knew this would be someone I would love to work with. During the interview Chris made me feel comfortable and allowed me to come out of my shell through our lengthy conversation about our beloved Arsenal football club.

“As soon as I started, Chris took me under his wing. Being the youngest employee at the store, many of the other staff dismissed me when I needed help, but not Chris. Chris had faith in me from the beginning and it was this faith, trust and guidance which allowed me to work 2 years with him at The Entertainer Toy Shop.

Chris’ nicknames for me such as ‘JT’ or the ‘next big thing’ made me feel like I was part of the team and made me believe that I had a bright future despite being on the receiving end of patronising comments and treatment from other senior members of staff. I am now studying Law at a Top 10 Russell Group University and I believe that Chris’ influence very much helped me to be where I am today. He’s desire to give me flexible hours allowed me to balance my sixth form work with paid work which enabled me to do very good in my a levels despite working through them. However more importantly Chris’ faith and belief in me during those two years gave me a new found confidence and self assurance that has given me the drive and belief that I can indeed be the next big thing in any field that I decided to go into.”
